organizational profile : The Confucian faith has existed in Indonesia for centuries. Long before Indonesia became independent, Confucianists comprised an integral part of the Indonesian nation. This is a fact that cannot be ignored. There has been increased recognition of human rights in this era of political reform, and this was shown by the opportunity granted by the Minister of Religion in the Reform Government to hold a conference (Munas XIII) attended by all representatives of MATAKIN.
MATAKIN is an independent organisation that is not affiliated with or to socio-political organisations in Indonesia or internationally.
